Sai Yok Yai Waterfall

Water cascading over rocky steps straight into the river, jungle-covered hills all around: Sai Yok Yai Waterfall is one of the best-loved natural sights in Kanchanaburi Province and a beautiful place for a break on your journey.

Sai Yok National Park

The waterfall lies in Sai Yok National Park, established in 1980 and covering around 500 square kilometres of limestone mountains, forest and river valley. The park is home to rich wildlife – including Kitti’s hog-nosed bat, considered the smallest mammal in the world, which lives in some of its limestone caves.

What you will experience

The waterfall, about ten metres high, drops directly into the Kwai Noi near the park headquarters. On the cruise programme you have lunch at a local restaurant nearby, with time for a stroll to the falls and along the river.

Good to know

  • The waterfall carries the most water during and after the rainy season, roughly from June to October.
  • Rocks near the water can be slippery.
