Lawa Cave (Kaeng Lava)

From the riverbank, a short trail climbs uphill – and then the hillside opens into a world of stone. Lawa Cave, also known as Kaeng Lava, is the largest cave in Sai Yok National Park, with vast chambers full of stalactites and stalagmites.

What you will experience

The cave extends for around 500 metres and consists of five large chambers. Over thousands of years, dripping water has shaped impressive curtains, columns and formations from the limestone. Your guide leads you through the chambers and points out the most beautiful formations.

Good to know

  • The path up to the cave is short but steep; sturdy shoes are recommended.
  • Inside, the floor can be uneven and damp.
