A short walk through the forest, the sound of rushing water growing louder – and then Pha Tad Waterfall appears, tumbling over three tiers into clear pools. It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Kanchanaburi Province.

What you will experience

The waterfall lies in the western part of Khuean Srinagarindra National Park in Thong Pha Phum district. It is fed by the Kui Mang stream, which continues down through the forest towards the Kwai Noi. Shady paths lead to the different levels of the falls, and the visit combines perfectly with the nearby Hin Dat Hot Spring, only a few kilometres away.

Good to know

• The falls are at their fullest from the late rainy season into the early cool season.
• Rocks can be slippery; sturdy sandals or shoes are recommended.
• Swimming is possible in calm spots – please check conditions on site.
